Pompous Ass Winery Theme Song

Pompous Ass Winery is a fun, unpretentious “boutique” winery located on NY Rt. 14 on the west side of Seneca Lake. Michael and Donna Lucent, the wonderfully fun and engaging owners of the winery, asked me to write a theme song for their new winery. Michael told me he had a melody running in his head that he would like to be the basis for the theme. When we met to discuss this project, Michael explained the theme should be uptempo and fun with a significant portion set in a German Beer Garden Band style. The rest of the piece was up to me, as long as it was fun. I took out my recorder and asked him to sing the melody he wish to have the theme song base on. After a few measures, it became apparent the tune was “Reuben, Reuben”.

The first half of the theme is set in the “Beer Garden” style, the then theme transitions into a parody of “Sing, Sing, Sing” using the “Reuben, Reuben” melody. What could be more fun than German Beer Garden and ‘40’s swing morphed together?!? Give a listen and enjoy. If you are ever near Seneca Lake in NY swing by the winery, it is a hoot!
